It ensures there is little confusion about how the team will communicate, make decisions, resolve conflict, and manage the work among the group. The charter is an important document because it establishes clear expectations regarding acceptable team member behavior, demonstrates a commitment to agreed-upon guidelines, and improves team cohesiveness. Assignment Prompt
In Week 1, you were assigned to a group, and you were asked to review the group project and check in with your teammates by the end of the week. In the Week 2 Group Assignment, your team will create a team charter that will be used to:

Clarify the purpose of the group project.
Establish:
roles and responsibilities,
working/communications preferences,
contact information, and
individual strengths and weaknesses/opportunities for individual development.
Agree on how your team will manage the work of the group project, including:
meeting virtually (when, how), and
how to manage the documentation (i.e., using the group locker for documentation).
Identify project deliverables that will be created by the group and submitted as group assignments (review the Group Project descriiption).
Establish a set of milestones for submitting project deliverables (group assignments).

Assignment Instructions
Prepare your team charter in MS Word (should not be longer than two pages) and have one team member submit the team charter using the Week 2 Group Assignment link. Save your team charter document as Week 2 Group Assignment Group #. Post your team charter in the group locker and refer to it as your team works through the group project.
