Support Group Observation (SG) [3@25 points each] See CRP for any additional instructions. Attestation is below
OVERVIEW Please make up a meeting for alcoholic anonymous
Psychiatric-Mental Health (PMH) nurses recognize that people with PMH disorders may have maladaptive coping behaviors that affect the individual, the family and other groups, and society as a whole. In addition, they understand that there are multiple biopsychosocial causes for the disorders. PMH nurses also understand the behavior change process and recognize that setbacks will occur during progress toward recovery and the initiation or maintenance of a behavior change goal (Scope of Practice of PMH Nursing, 2022).
Support group meetings bring people with common concerns together and may be facilitated by a supportive leader or by group members (Townsend, 2018). Self-help support groups focus on specific topics, such as substance use, grief, domestic violence, mental health conditions, dementia, suicide, etc
