Mini-Lesson (50 points)
Prompt: This assignment provides practice in creating a mini-lesson. Refer to the mini-lesson section in the Compendium of Instructional Procedures in the back of the Tompkins text. Other examples of mini-lessons can be found in Chapter 4 and Chapter 6.
You are creating a mini-lesson to teach a reading or writing strategy to an emergent, beginning, or fluent reader. Your mini-lesson topic may cover any reading or writing strategy or skill mentioned in Chapter 2. You may also develop any of the Instructional Recommendations from Figure 2-3.
Select a quality picture book, short story, or nonfiction article to use as the anchor text for your mini-lesson.
Submit your work on the Mini-Lesson Template found in Appendix B of the module and Canvas.
Remember, a mini-lesson is short – typically 10-15 minutes long.
Requirements: Your submission must include an APA formatted title page and references page and must be submitted on the Mini-Lesson Template.
