1)Mcdonaghs plot reversals are excellent examples of how traditional dramatic structure functions. Which reversal was most convincing and startling and why? A reversal is when one thing is expected and the opposite takes place, or when a discovery is made that leads to a change in fortune.
2) Who ultimately in the end is the Lieutenant of Inishmore? Justify your answer with examples from the play.
3) What is the response for audiences when we see the Real Tom return at plays end. How did you respond? Is this a plot device or something deeper when reflected upon?

10) How does Michael function in Lughnasa? What is the importance of presenting the story of these sisters from his perspective? What differences are noticeable between his role as a character and as a narrator.
11) Of the women in the play which is the most compelling dramatically? State three reasons for your answer and contrast this character with several of her sisters.

14) Discuss the function of dancing in the play. Why is it critical as a release for these women? Do some research on Irish Dancing and how the dancing has been perceived in prior productions, or even the film version of the play.
